Candles in jars

“Light and life to all he brings”, wonderful words from one of our favourite carols, “Hark the Herald Angels Sing”. As we sing it we proclaim the good news of Jesus’ birth and celebrate that he stepped into our humanity as the light we desperately need, offering us the gift of eternal life.

Sadly for many, Christmas is a hard, painful and empty time with seemingly little reason to celebrate. Jesus calls us to enter into those dark places, to bring his love, light and hope. That’s why you find Church Army on the edges of society, meeting people where they are, often in desperate need, helping them know God’s love and peace in their lives.

Every year we reach out to individuals and communities by:
  • Supporting men and women battling addiction
  • Counselling teenagers who self-harm
  • Providing safe accommodation for homeless women and young people
  • Praying with those near the end of their lives
John 1:4-5

There are so many people we have yet to reach, and so many broken lives still to be touched by Christ’s light. Please can you join us in helping them?

Every £1 you give goes directly to our frontline work, helping Church Army be that light and life where it is urgently needed. £15 could enable a Church Army Evangelist to run an after-school club on a housing estate. £25 could fund independent-living workshops at a Church Army project. £50 could fund a community drop-in centre at a Centre of Mission.

Through your prayers and donations we can continue to introduce people to the gift of eternal life, this Christmas and beyond.

Can you bring Light and Life this Christmas? You can give to our appeal online, via BT MyDonate or you can call our fundraising team on 0300 123 2113Thank you for your generosity.
