Within Church Army we have hundreds of volunteers that sacrificially and generously give their time, skills and energies to work towards our vision: to see communities transformed. We have volunteers working with homeless women, young people who self-harm, in schools, with youth groups, in our office, driving buses and lots more. They are a valuable part of what we do, and this role as Volunteer Facilitator, will be about knowing, understanding, supporting and celebrating our volunteers.
This is a new role within Church Army and you will work under the leadership of the HR and Volunteering Lead to take forward the volunteer strand of our new exciting and ambitious strategy. You will help us establish some new policies and procedures, gather data about our existing volunteers, support volunteers in their journey with us and help them integrate wider into the life of Church Army.
There is a lot of work to be done, and so this role suits someone who enjoys a varied workload and isn’t put off by a challenge. You will enjoy administration and ensuring adequate and fit for purpose processes are in place; as well as working with people and celebrating their gifts and commitment. You should be someone who understands the importance of volunteering and the difference it makes, either through your own experiences or through working with volunteers in the past. As someone who will turn ideas into action, you will be able to use your initiative and is organised in their work. You will have excellent interpersonal skills, able to work with people unconditionally and be passionate about what we do, and the difference it makes to communities across the UK and Ireland.
Our vision is to see our volunteers as key people integrated and celebrated within the life of Church Army. If you want to help us do that, and be part of a committed, friendly and ambitious team, then we would love you to join us.
