Details Middlesbrough Centre of Mission is a new partnership between Church Army & York Diocese to evangelise one of the most socially deprived communities in the country, and re-establish one or more worshipping communities. 

We are looking for someone who: 
  • Has a strong desire to reach those in their 20s - 40s, and see them become disciples of Christ
  • Is a person of prayer, robust spirituality and self-discipline
  • Has a collaborative approach to relationships and ministry 
Within this role you will share the good news of Jesus with people of Brambles Farm & Thorntree in their 20s to 40s, making disciples and building appropriate Christian communities. You will look to assist other churches locally in their mission to 20s to 40s. 

The successful candidate need to have imagination and be prepared to work 'outside the box', whilst valuing the context of the community, in order to identify the most effective way of reaching those in their 20s-40s, and prayerfully develop strategies to grow the Centre of Mission. You will need to be able to pioneer and establish new worshipping communities, and work alongside other churches to share insights and encouragement.  
 
Salary £22,815 per annum
 
Contract
 
Open-ended, funding anticipated for 5 years
Hours 37.5 hours per week.

Normal working pattern will include evening and weekend work. 
 
Pension If a Church Army commissioned evangelist, non-contributory pension, operated by the Church of England Pensions Board.
If not Church Army commission, then the employee will be assess under autoenrolment legislation and if eligible, minimum contributions will be made. 
 
Housing
 
A house will be provided on, or adjacent to the estate. 
Annual Leave 25 days per year, plus bank holidays (33 days in total), pro-rata. 
 
DBS Requirement An enhanced DBS check will be required and compliance with Church Army's Safer Ministry Policy. 
 
Occupational Requirement This post is subject to an Occupational Requirement under the provisions made in the Equality Act 2010 that the post holder has an active faith in Jesus. 

The successful candidate must be in agreement with the vision and values of Church Army and York Diocese.

Interviews 29 April 2019, including an introductory tour and meetings with key stakeholders
