Details Leeds Centre of Mission is a new partnership between Church Army and the Diocese of Leeds to share Christian faith and make disciples of teenagers in the Seacroft estate, growing new forms of Christian community appropriate to the context.

We are looking for someone who has:
  • a strong desire to reach teenagers, and where appropriate their families, and see them become disciples of Christ
  • experience of working and / or living on outer estates and ability to convey God’s love to people
  • the ability to speak naturally, confidently and from personal experience about the enrichment that Christian faith brings to everyday life
In this post, the successful candidate will look to develop a significant ministry amongst unchurched young people using lessons learnt from Sorted and MYCN principles, through evangelism, making disciples and enabling appropriate new forms of church, known as Sorted Seacroft. They will look to form a team with local volunteers and in time with diocesan interns, up to four of whom who will be housed on the Seacroft estate. Together they will work with Bishop Young C of E Academy, Leeds Faith in Schools (who provide chaplaincy in the school) and local churches. 

The successful candidate will pioneer, innovate, and establish New Worshipping Youth Communities, whilst offering encouragement and support to other churches in the parish, deanery and diocese as part of the DARE strategy. 
 
Salary £23,315 per annum
 
Hours
 
37.5 hours per week (full-time), including evening and weekend work
Pension
 
If a Church Army commissioned evangelist, non-contributory, operated by the Church of England Pensions Board.

If not Church Army commissioned, then the employee will be assessed under auto-enrolment pension legislation and if eligible, minimum contributions will be made.
 
Housing
 
A house will be provided on or adjacent to the estate.
DBS
 
An Enhanced DBS check required and compliance with Church Army's Safer Ministry policy. 
Occupational
Requirement

 
This post is subject to an Occupational Requirement under the provisions made in the Equality Act 2010 that the post holder has an active faith in Jesus.
The successful candidate must be in agreement with the vision and values of Church Army and Leeds Diocese.

Interviews
