The Marylebone Project is one of the largest women’s hostels in the UK for women affected by homelessness. We provide shelter, education opportunities, spiritual space and events in a welcoming and secure environment.

We are recruiting for a General Manager to join us at this key time of our work. As General Manager you will be the leader of the project and will be responsible for ensuring the smooth running of the project and leading the management so they can deliver their goals. 

You will be someone who is able to work well with a busy workload and manage responsibility positively to bring about change. You will be an excellent manager of people and for this we are looking for someone who can get the best out of people, inspire them and provide appropriate coaching and support for them. You should also be an effective project manager, able to ensure projects are delivered on time and to a high standard; therefore communication skills are essential. 

You will report direct to the Homeless Projects Manager, who oversees our work in London and Cardiff, but this role will be responsible for the day to day management of the project.  As leader of the Marylebone Project, you will be a key advocate for our work and therefore a heart for what we do is essential. We want someone who knows about the challenges of homelessness and is passionate, committed and dedicated to our vision to end homelessness. You will need to be someone confident about profiling our work whether in person or using social media, and who can also ensure that the Marylebone Project works in line with the vision and values of Church Army. 

This role will mean you are a leader within the organisation, and although you do not have to have a Christian Faith to do the role, you should be in sympathy with the vision and values of Church Army.
 
Salary £47,000 per annum
 
Hours 40 hours a week across Monday to Friday with a 30 minute unpaid break

You may be required to work evenings and weekends, as the responsibilities of the role demand

You will be added to the management on-call rota
 
Pension The employee will be enrolled into a pension scheme providing the post holder meets the criteria for eligibility
Minimum contributions will be made by Church Army
 
Annual Leave 25 days per annum plus bank holidays

Bank holiday cover may be required
 
Occupational Requirement  Physical requirement:  The job regularly involves walking throughout the Project, which is based over 2 sites, 100m apart, over a number of floors with stair access.  Physical mobility and ability to carry smaller items are required as essential.
