WITH COMMUNITY DEAN

Details With is the UK’s first bespoke ecumenical Christian community serving young people.

After being given a rent-free, long-term lease for All Hallows, a group of youth workers are reimagining the life there for the 21st Century. Together they are enacting their vision for a brand-new religious community whose life of prayer is focused on young people, and a spiritual retreat centre for young people and those people who work with them, known as With. Church Army are proud to give them some support to set this up. 

We are looking for a Community Dean to join us at this key time of making a vision a reality. This person will initially be responsible for helping establish a rhythm of life for the community and then once the community is in place to grow and sustain the community pastorally and spiritually.

Salary £25,000 per annum
 
Hours 37.5 hours per week (including evenings and weekends)
 
Pension If clergy, a non-contributory pension, operated by the Church of England Pensions Board.

Otherwise the employee will be assessed under auto-enrolment pension legislation and if eligible, minimum contributions will be made.
 
Housing Accommodation is provided on site as part of the role.
 
Contract  Initially 24 months (fixed-term). 

There will be a review of the role at 6 months which will be classed as a probation period, and a further review at 12 and 24 months to assess the needs of the role in light of the development of the community.
 
DBS You are expected to comply with all safeguarding policies & procedures, and attend regular safeguarding training. 
 
Occupational Requirement
 
Under the provisions of the Equality Act 2010 there is a requirement that the post holder is a Christian with an active faith in Jesus Christ. The successful candidate must be in agreement with the statement of faith, which is based on the Apostles Creed.
 
Annual Leave 25 days, plus bank holidays (33 days in total).
