Pioneer youth EvangelisT for blackpool centre of mission

Location     Blackpool (Grange Park and Deanery)
 
Details In this role as Pioneer Evangelist, you will join with Lead Evangelist Matthew Rowley in reaching out to the people of the Grange Park community, with a particular responsibility for building on the exisiting ministries to children and families, and to young people. In time, knowledge and experience can be shared with other churches in the deanery, especially in reaching teenagers.

You will be the sort of person who is motivated to pioneer new forms of outreach and Christian community, as part of the team and within the broader vision. You will want to come and ‘pitch your tent’ among the people, to know and be known in every day life, witnessing to Jesus through your words, actions and lifestyle. You will have a care and compassion for people who face many challenges in life, who often suffer material, emotional and spiritual poverty, yet may bring a richness of life and relating.

You will understand and value the importance of bringing others with you, and will see mentoring and equipping other Christians, and growing future leaders, as key.  You will be reasonably confident with use of social media, and open to grow in that. You will be able to work with a spectrum of Anglican traditions, and especially within a parish that is evangelical and stands with the statement of faith of the CEEC.

This role needs someone who is teachable, is capable of pioneering Christian communities among the unchurched, and with a track record of helping people to find faith in Christ. Your own faith will inspire you to find new and creative ways to share the love of Jesus with others.
 
Salary
 
£23,215 per annum
Hours     37.5 hours per week (including evenings and weekends as part of the role)
 
Pension If a Church Army commissioned, evangelist or ordained, non-contributory, operated by the Church of England Pensions Board.

If not Church Army commissioned, then the employee will be assessed under auto-enrolment pension legislation and if eligible, minimum contributions will be made.
 
Housing
 
A 4-bedroom house will be provided on Overdale Grove, Blackpool.
 
Annual Leave 25 days plus public bank holidays (33 days total).
 
Contract Full-Time, Open-Ended (currently funded for 3 years with the potential of further funds being raised)
 
DBS  An enhanced DBS check required and compliance with Church Army’s Safer Ministry policy.
 
Notice 4 weeks (after probation period).
 
Occupational Requirement This post is subject to an Occupational Requirement under the provisions made in the Equality Act 2010 that the post holder has an active faith in Jesus. The successful candidate must be in agreement with the vision and values of Church Army and the Diocese Blackburn
