Church Army is known for stepping out of the four walls of the church to meet people where they are. Will you join us on a special journey this year as we aim to raise money to help others on their personal journey of faith and discovery of God?

You could take your journey as a challenge and ask people to sponsor you. Set up an online sponsor page via BT MyDonate or Just Giving or choose to simply make it a personal pilgrimage – we’d just ask that you make a donation if you can to help us support those starting out on their faith journey.

Journey target 50000

We’re looking for 500 people to raise £100 each. This would help us fund two new Centres of Mission. However, don’t worry if you raise less, everything helps!

Choose your Journey

Whether you choose a walk, a run or a bike ride is entirely up to you – it’s YOUR journey!

There are lots of routes you could take. The main thing is to find something that suits your circumstances. Get some inspiration for routes below, or simply make your own route to suit your ability and time commitment.

National Trails

  • Annie O'Connor (Training Team) walked the 134 mile North Wales Pilgrim's Way and raised over £1,500 for Church Army!
  • Sarah Taylor (Fundraising Team) and a group of around 10 others took on the Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge in September. That's 24.5miles, 3 peaks, 12 hours. Together they raised over £2,000!
  • John Vivian (Research Team) completed the Tube Challenge in November - visting all 270 of the London Underground stations in one day! John raised over £700 for us!
  • Karen Webb (North Belfast Centre of Mission) and Emma Rodrigues (Ballina Centre of Mission) are exploring the possibility of a bike ride between their two Centres of Mission - that's 160 miles!

It would be really great to know how many people we have planning a journey. Please register here.

Staying safe

We want you to have fun but please take care to stay safe on your Journey. Think about how far you are planning to go, what do you need?
  • Ensure you have the right clothing and footwear
  • First aid kit
  • Mobile phone
  • Map or other navigation aids
  • Rucksack with spare dry clothing
The list could be endless so please do plan in advance. And remember, events like this are most fun if you do it with someone else, and it’s safer, so find your Journey friends and have fun!
